Pregnancy and Delivery
I do everything that I can to ensure each puppy born will be healthy and off to a great start. Moms are always up to date with their vaccinations and Heartguard. Moms also get a high quality diet that provides the growing puppies with everything they need.

When it is time for the new babies to enter the world I am always right by their sides. They deliver the puppies in my home and I give the mothers any assistance that the need. We have never had to have a C-section and I've never lost a mother due to any pregnancy complication.

We make sure that everyone is warm and comfortable while they settle in and adjust. I will supplement puppies with formula if it seems that mamma isn't able to keep up right away. In all the years that I've been raising Poodles we have only lost one puppy. I believe that speaks volumes about the care and supervision that the mothers and babies receive.

The Babies
At two days of age the puppies have their dew claws removed and their tail docked. At two weeks they receive a Kennel Cough vaccination and their first deworming. The deworming is repeated at 4,6,8 and 10 weeks of age. I give the first 5-way puppy vaccination at 6 weeks, boosters are at 10 and 14 weeks.

I begin feeding the puppies "mush" at about 4 weeks of age. The mush is made from dry puppy food ground up in the blender and then mixed with warm formula. The puppies LOVE it! As their teeth come in I also offer dry food. We gradually make the transition to dry food over the course of about two weeks.

The puppies are handled daily by myself as well as my children and friends. This results in very happy, well socialized puppies.

I begin grooming the puppies at 5 weeks of age. They have their faces and base of the tail and potty area clipped and they get a bath and are blow-dried. By starting early the pups are very used to the process and are easy to handle with it comes time for grooming and baths.

Registration
All of our Poodles are AKC Registerable. We offer two types of registration for the Poodles. AKC Limited and AKC Full. Limited registrations means that you can not compete in AKC conformation events, you cannot breed the dog and register the puppies and I require that you spay/neuter the dog. Full Registration does not have these restrictions.
